In short:
Police have charged a 53-year-old Mount Macedon woman with drug trafficking, following an investigation into the death of Rachel Dixon in Clunes in April last year.
Police say the charges are not related to Ms Dixon’s death, the cause of which remains unclear.
What’s next?
The Mount Macedon woman will appear in court at the end of the month.
Police still do not know what caused the death of Ringwood woman Rachael Dixon at a health retreat in Central Victoria last year, but have charged a woman involved in the retreat with drug trafficking.
Police will allege they found evidence a 53-year-old Mount Macedon woman connected to the retreat was trafficking a drug of dependence, psilocin, a hallucinogen found in magic mushrooms.
Officers said no charges had been laid in relation Ms Dixon’s death, after an autopsy was unable to determine the cause.
It’s understood Ms Dixon consumed a drink before emergency services were called to Soul Barn retreat in Clunes just before midnight on April 23, 2024.
The Mount Macedon woman was charged on summons on January 13 and will appear before Bacchus Marsh Magistrates’ Court on January 29.
