My 10-year-old son Gabriel had been coding in hashtagScratch for a few years and wanted to build a real website. We spent weeks looking for the right project: school stuff, hobbies, nothing clicked.

Then he asked that question.

I dug through my inbox and found it: an email from a colleague asking when the next cannabis event in France was. Simple question. No simple answer with a lot of websites with their own lists of events.

Gabriel’s vision was immediate: a world map where you click any country and see all the events for the year.

One weekend later, we shipped it.

He built the frontend and layout. I handled the backend and integrated a few AI agents to keep the data current. By Sunday, I checked it and saw an IgniteIt Cannabis event in hashtagJersey happening that week. Showed up, demoed the site, and people wouldn’t stop asking for the link.
