WASHINGTON – Sept. 10, 2024- PRESS RELEASE The Last Prisoner Project, along with other cannabis industry supporters and bipartisan 420 Unity Coalition Partners launched the #Countdown4Clemency Campaign, a call for action for President Joe Biden. He should fulfill his commitment to justice for cannabis by granting clemency for thousands of individuals who are incarcerated because they have been convicted for federal cannabis convictions.

The #Countdown4Clemency initiative urges Biden, through the campaign, to act quickly to release approximately 3,000 individuals still incarcerated in prison for cannabis offenses. Recent polls indicate that 84% The majority of voters support the release of prisoners for crimes that are now legal. 72% Support clemency on both a federal and state level, highlighting the public’s strong support of cannabis clemency.
