Right back at it this week! This social media flow is starting to resonate with me. Pray I can make it through this week. If I do I think I can finally balance social media and my normal work flow. Anyways, as stated yesterday, this lecture covers the last couple cases I wanted to discuss in this sub-section of our Lecture series. I have attached the opinion I discuss from the 10th circuit. In this case, I point out how evidence related to diversion and/or other CSA violations can bleed into the āreligionā analysis, although seemingly only relevant for purposes of the governmentās ācompelling interestā burden.
Without attaching any pleadings or documents yet, I discuss my most significant case U.S. v. Harmel Codi, 2:24-cr-00161 (N.D. Ala. 2024). This is a pro bono case I picked up on a whim when contacted by the client. I discuss some of the basic pertinent facts here. But it is the first ever (that Iām aware of) indictment related to ayahuasca? Check it out and let me know your thoughts on any of this. As stated, once the criminal case is resolved, Iāll be good to speak more freely about it, so stay tuned. I want to continue to respect my clientās space here, although she has authorized me to speak about it for educational purposes. However, please donāt be shy to ask me questions regarding this case. Again, I can give some limited information which is already in the public record.
