Chamber of Cannabis Industry Ghana Engages Czech Embassy in Accra to Advance Bilateral Cannabis Collaboration

Accra, Ghana — The Chamber of Cannabis Industry Ghana recently paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Accra, where it held discussions with the Embassy’s Trade Department on strengthening cooperation in the cannabis and industrial hemp industry.

The meeting focused on collaboration across the cannabis value chain, including medicinal cannabis, industrial hemp, research, technology transfer, capacity building, and investment. A key highlight was the upcoming trade mission to the Czech Republic in April 2026, which will give Ghanaian stakeholders direct access to Czech industry players, regulators, and technology providers.

“This engagement marks an important milestone in building strategic international partnerships to support the responsible growth of Ghana’s cannabis industry,” said Dr. Mark G. Darko, CEO of the Chamber of Cannabis Industry Ghana.“The Czech Republic’s experience in regulation, research, and technology presents valuable opportunities for collaboration.”

Ms. Beata Matusiková, Economic and Trade Counselor at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Accra, added:
“There is strong potential for cooperation between Czech and Ghanaian stakeholders, particularly in knowledge exchange, investment, and technical collaboration.”

The Czech Republic is a leading European market for medical cannabis with strong research and processing capabilities. Ghana, having legalized cannabis for medicinal and industrial purposes, is rapidly emerging as a hub for cultivation, processing, training, and export-oriented value addition.

The Chamber reaffirmed its commitment to fostering international engagement, responsible industry growth, and investment-driven development, strengthening Ghana’s position in the global cannabis ecosystem.
