Canadian cannabis company The Good Shroom Co. (TSXV: MUSH) announced a double twist on Thursday, with both a corporate rebrand to Mercanto Holdings Inc. and the issuance of a “fixed up to 20%” stock option plan.

The stock option plan has been approved by regulators at the TSX Venture Exchange, and shareholders also gave it a thumbs up at the company’s annual gathering on Wednesday, the company said in a press release.

Despite the name change to Mercanto, the company will keep its ticker symbol, MUSH, but shares have been assigned new CUSIP 58757P107 and ISIN CA58757P1071 numbers, the company said.

The new stock option plan replaces an earlier version that was “rolling up to 10%” and has been established as an improved way to compensate company officers and other shareholders as Mercanto continues to grow, the company said. Eligible recipients may receive stock options over the next decade, and the company will issue up to 10.1 million options under the plan.

In the first fiscal quarter of 2025, which ended Dec. 23 last year, Mercanto posted a net loss of C$55,000, but for the 2024 fiscal year, which ended July 31, the company reported a profit of C$40,603.

In the same release, Mercanto said that it has continued executing expansion plans, with the launch of THC-infused pouch brand Deckies in Ontario this week, and its existing DYP’s THC-infused pouches “have been well-received in Alberta,” with sales “ramping up steadily.”

“With the Ontario and Alberta launches, the foundation for broader market growth is firmly underway,” Mercanto said.
