COLUMBUS — When recreational marijuana sales begin on Tuesday, nearly 100 Ohio dispensaries are expected to sell marijuana. Here is a list of where to buy.
Before you buy
Customers must be at least 21 years old with a physical ID. Ohio has just updated its ID rules to include Apple Wallet. However, some places may still require the in-person version. Underage purchases would be punished in a similar way to alcohol purchases under 21.
You can have upto 2.5 ounces in any form of marijuana, except for concentrates.
Despite federal banking regulations, many dispensaries still only accept cash. Some shops accept payments via third-party apps such as Spendr.

Scot Lee opened Therapy Cannabis, his dispensary a month before. Since then, the dispensary is working to double their staff and products as preparation for Tuesday. Lee says he is ready to reach out to new areas of the non-medical communities and normalize cannabis usage.
“We are eager to welcome those who are excited, but we also want the opportunity to speak to those who have concerns. We want to ensure that they understand our strict process,” said Lee
Jeff McCourt, CEO of The Landing Dispensary, has been selling medical marijuana at its 6,000-square-foot Cleveland property near the Flats since December 2022. He knows the impact weed has made on the medical community and believes that recreational sales will have a major effect on all aspects of the city.
McCourt said, “It is a win-win situation for everyone, from a public perspective to a fiscal perspective to a patient access perspective and from an adult’s perspective of having a safe, trusted product they can now purchase.”
The Lakewood Police Department claims that the changes made by the dispensaries to their production are minor.
Captain Gary Stone told News 5 that they will not be issuing citations for marijuana or confiscating it unless there’s been a traffic infraction. He reminded everyone to be safe even though it’s legal.
Captain Stone said, “Please use it responsibly just like alcohol.”
