In less than two months, recreational marijuana sales in Ohio have exceeded $76.2 million.
According to the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Cannabis Control, recreational marijuana sales in Ohio totaled $76,280.490 on Sept. 21. Ohio charges a 10% tax on all non-medical marijuana transactions.
In less than a month, recreational marijuana sales in Ohio surpassed $11.5 million. In November, 57% of Ohioans voted in favor of legalizing marijuana through Issue 2, which allowed home-grown marijuana for Ohioans aged 21 and older.
According to the DCC, 8,813 pounds plant materials and 1,187 395 units of manufactured goods have been sold.
According to the division, there are 124 marijuana dispensaries that can sell both non-medical and medical marijuana. Columbus has 13 dual use marijuana dispensaries. Dayton has 6, and Cleveland has 5.
According to the Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University, there are more than 107 local prohibitions on adult-use cannabis businesses in Ohio as of Monday.
