Four of the many marijuana edible brands that are available in the United States have risen to prominence and control 18% of the cannabis edibles market. Reportage New Frontier Data
The report found that during the week of August 25, Oregon-based Wyld, Illinois-based Incredibles, Colorado-based Wana Brands Californian Kiva-Camino The top four cannabis edibles manufacturers are listed in this order. Wyld holds 8.4% of the market, Incredibles 5%, Wana 4%, and Kiva 3.5%.
In descending order, the next four were Oregon-based Smokiez, with 2,6%, Arkansas’ Good Day Farm, with 2,4%, Oregon’s GRON, with 2,2%, Arizona’s Copperstate Farms, with 2.1, New York Ayrloom, with 2.1, and New York Off Hours, with 1.9%.
The list represents just under 34% of the total national edibles market.
New Frontier reported that consumers are loyal to the brands they enjoy. “Forty five percent of consumers said they always or often buy the same brand edibles. Only 7% said they rarely purchase the edibles brand again. This is good for the brands listed.”
A spokeswoman for New Frontier confirmed via email that the report was based upon information from more 1,700 dispensaries located in 34 states.
Amanda Reiman, a spokeswoman for the company, wrote: “Once you go beyond the top 10, your market share is very small because many brands only exist in one state.”
Many of the top brands are not present in every state. Wyld has a cannabis presence in only 13 states, including Canada, according its website. Website24 states have legalized the use of cannabis for adults, and 38 have legalized its medical use.
New Frontier’s report concluded that “favorites are emerging among consumers” in the edibles industry, with gummies at the top of the list for infused products.
New Frontier reported that gummies are the preferred edible for 84% cannabis consumers. This is up from 45% of cannabis users in 2022.
The trend of marijuana consumers choosing non-smoking forms of consumption is also a big one for edibles manufacturers. In 2018, 21% of consumers chose “nonflower cannabis products”, up from 17% of 2022.
