Kevin Russell Beasley, 51, was convicted of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to court documents, law enforcement intercepted the shipment from California on Nov. 1, 2024. Authorities set up a controlled delivery to an address in Portsmouth. Beasley went to pick up the package and was arrested immediately.

A search of his home revealed a large quantity of drugs and related items, including about 14 kilograms of marijuana, 84 grams of cocaine, 786 grams of psychedelic mushrooms containing psilocyn and psilocybin, 182 THC vape cartridges, marijuana wax, packaging materials, roughly $35,000 in cash, two cellphones, and a loaded firearm.

Prosecutors said this was not Beasley’s first run-in with the law. In 2016, he used the mail to receive marijuana for distribution. Following a controlled delivery and search of his Portsmouth residence, authorities recovered firearms and additional marijuana. Beasley was later convicted of multiple drug offenses and obstruction of justice. As a convicted felon, he is prohibited from possessing firearms.
