Full story after the jump.
The California State Fair, coming July 11-27, 2025, will allow on-site cannabis consumption and is set to host the California Cannabis Awards once again this year. The competition-style event is designed to exhibit and recognize the stateās top cannabis producers and product manufacturers. Fairgoers aged 21+ will be able to access the cannabis exhibitĀ ā and purchase and consume cannabis products on-site ā throughout the fairās duration.
The organizers noted in a press release that this yearās event will include new awards to better recognize the marketās product diversity, adding product categories for blunts, hash, and cannabis-infused chocolates. Submissions for the competition opened March 1.
āFor more than 170 years the California State Fair has had a long-standing tradition of celebrating the best of the Golden State, especially those who epitomize the stateās agricultural excellence. Since welcoming cannabis to the Fair, weāve witnessed firsthand the pride and dedication of Californiaās cannabis cultivators, who are crafting some of the best products, not just in the state, but in the entire industry.ā ā Tom Martinez, CEO of the California State Fair, in a press release
Organizers have also partnered with the California cannabis brand Embarc once again for integrated, on-site cannabis sales following the Fairās successful partnership with the company last year.
āLast year, we made history by integrating cannabis sales and consumption into the State Fair, and we are thrilled to return in 2025,ā Embarc co-founder Lauren Carpenter said in the release. āThrough an immersive educational experience, weāre shining a light on the cannabis brands reflecting and shaping cannabis culture in California and beyond.ā
