Law enforcement has dealt a major blow to drug trafficking networks, arresting 46 suspects and seizing large quantities of narcotics and weapons in coordinated raids across the country, officials said Sunday.

The Anti-Narcotics Department led multiple operations targeting suspected drug dealers and traffickers, a Public Security Directorate spokesperson announced.

In the Ruwaished district near the Iraqi border, special forces conducted a high-stakes raid, capturing three suspects described by authorities as major players in regional drug trafficking networks. Officers recovered multiple weapons and drugs during the operation.

A separate operation in the port city of Aqaba netted nine suspects and approximately 26 pounds of marijuana.

In Jordan’s Northern Badia region, police arrested three alleged dealers and seized 85 blocks of hashish along with firearms from what investigators described as a residential stash house.

Authorities in Irbid, dismantled what they called a significant drug operation, arresting three suspects.

The raid yielded nine blocks of hashish, 6,000 pills, and about seven ounces of crystal methamphetamine. A follow-up operation in the same area led to two more arrests and the seizure of over two pounds of crystal meth and three firearms.

In the capital Amman, police busted a drug ring operating out of a residential area, arresting three suspects found with 4,500 pills, crystal meth, and a firearm.

Another raid in East Amman resulted in five arrests and the seizure of crystal meth, cocaine, pills, and hashish.

The operation concluded in Karak with the arrest of what officials called a “key suspect” in the drug trade, found in possession of crystal meth.

Law enforcement officials said all suspects are in custody and awaiting prosecution.

The raids mark the latest effort in Jordan’s ongoing campaign against drug trafficking.
