Product Alert (2025-01)

ISSUE: The Division of Cannabis Control (DCC) is issuing a product alert on one lot of cannabis-infused edible gummies produced by the processor Farmaceutical RX, LLC, license #CCP000045-00 under the Local Edibles Ohio brand.

The processor used an ingredient (“edible glitter”) that was not disclosed on the product label nor in the product item registration within the state inventory tracking system. Additionally, the processor was unable to provide evidence that the ingredient was obtained from a licensed and regulated source.

Edible glitter, like other non-marijuana ingredients, may be permissible to use as an ingredient under some circumstances provided it is disclosed and properly sourced from a licensed and regulated entity. The presence of the ingredient does not reasonably constitute a health hazard; therefore, a product alert was determined to be the most appropriate course of action. Farmaceutical RX has pulled all affected product off of dispensary shelves. The DCC recommends that patients and consumers refrain from consuming the affected product, and either discard the remainder or return it to the dispensary of purchase for refund.

The DCC will provide any updates as necessary on this product alert.
