Pope Francis entertained a psychedelic ambassador at the Vatican who claims humanity will be saved if we all get off our nuts on magic mushrooms and LSD. The pontiff met Jesuit lawyer Brian Muraresku and accepted his wacky manifesto at the previously unreported meeting, held in 2021 or 2022.

He believes the mind-altering drugs are the key to restoring faith to western civilisation. Muraresku insists Christianity spiralled from pagan mystery cults where sacred rituals involved chomping on a psychedelic fungus.

He handed Francis a copy of his 2020 book The Immortality Key during the “holy meeting”. It argues that psychedelics might rescue a “dying faith” meaning half-empty churches would be packed across the UK once more

Muraresku blasts the New Testament as “outdated and impenetrable” calling for it to be replaced by the “sacred technology” of psychedelics. The brain-bending drugs would kickstart a “lifelong” spiritual journey that would “make life livable on this planet,” he says.
