According to a report in a whitepaper, cannabis pre-rolls grew the fastest in the cannabis industry for the second consecutive year with a 11.89% increase in sales revenue.

According to a report, cannabis pre-rolls grew at the fastest rate in the industry in 2023 for the second year in a row. Custom Cones USA White paper report published by partnership with Headset.

The report uses Headset’s retail point of sale data from 12 states that have legalized cannabis from January 2023 through June 2024. It also incorporates feedback from over 300 licensed cannabis companies.

Cannabis pre-rolls grew in sales revenue more than any other cannabis category in the U.S. between June 2023 and June 2024, with a 11.89% increase year-over-year. The report found that among pre-roll product categories, “infused” or “connoisseur pre-rolls – which are products that have been infused with cannabis concentrate – saw the largest growth with a 61% rise over 18 months.

The report stated that infused beverages were second only to pre-rolls, with a 10.97% increase in sales revenue. However, the total revenue from pre-rolls is almost 12 times greater than the sales revenue of cannabis beverages by June 2024. Vape pens and flower product sales also saw an increase in revenue last year, but only by less than 3.5%. Cannabis topicals, capsules and even concentrates saw a significant drop in revenue.
