Andrew Talbot used police to find dealers to help him sell drugs
A detective who stole almost four kilograms of cocaine from a police evidence store and sold it on the street Manchester Has been convicted of multiple offenses.
Andrew Talbot was a serious crime investigator at the Serious Crime Division of Greater Manchester The police (GMP) searched the confidential computer systems of the force for known or suspected dealers in order to help him sell drugs he supplied from February 2018 to January 2020.
The 54-year old was found guilty on Wednesday at Liverpool crown courts of supplying a class A controlled drug, misconduct in public service and failing to comply with an notice under section 49 of Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act of 2000.
Talbot was investigated after he dropped the small bag of cocaine outside his daughter’s primary schools on 13 February 2020. Talbot was searched at his workplace and found to be carrying more cocaine. In his car, he had a piece with the exhibit references and property number of two successful GMP operations in the supply of the drugs.
