St. Croix VI – United States attorney Delia L. Smith has announced that Leroy Roebuck Jr. 37, from St. Croix was sentenced today by District Judge Wilma Lewis to 97 month imprisonment, three years of supervised released, a fine $2,000.00 and a $100.00 Special Assessment, following his guilty plea for Conspiracy to Possess Controlled Substances with Intent To Distribute.

Documents from the court show that on April 25, 2023 Roebuck sold 60 kilograms cocaine to an undercover agent for $900,000.00. Roebuck contacted an undercover agent on April 26, 2023 and agreed to sell him 50 kilograms of cocaine after discovering that the remaining 10 kg were of poor quality. On April 26, 2023 Roebuck and a non-identified person arrived at a predetermined place to complete the cocaine sale. Roebuck asked the agent undercover if he would like to see the cocaine. He then showed him four containers containing varying quantities of individually-wrapped bricks of cocaine. Roebuck then was arrested.

The Drug Enforcement Administration investigated this case and Assistant United States Attorney Evan Rikhye prosecuted it. This prosecution is a part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces investigation.
