It should not be surprising to anyone, given the Governor’s statement of signing and the inequities and gross deficiencies in the hemp law. However, a lawsuit was filed against the State to prevent its implementation.

This law was well-intentioned but remarkably flawed. Legislators are trying to solve this problem with good intentions, but toothpaste is already out of the tube. There needs to be a balance of interests. Some of the stakeholders have burned bridges, and it will be fascinating to see how the cleanup legislation evolves.
