NORTH ROYALTON (Ohio) — North Royalton, Ohio is one of the cities in Northeast Ohio that have banned recreational marijuana businesses.

Council President Paul Marnecheck stated that this ban on recreational marijuana could be lifted as soon as the state develops guidelines.

But for the moment, he North Royalton has a ban on smoking in place until the situation changes.

“Marnecheck said that when the state develops its guidelines, it can still have a conversation about what is best for our community.

“I believe that each city and municipality has the right to say they don’t want this in their town. I think it would be best if the issue could be put to a vote by the public,” said EV’s Manager and Partner David Magnus.

Magnus says his shop is interested to get into the marijuana business.

He says that the process was challenging.

Magnus said, “It seems like it will be hard to get in unless you’re already established in that industry.”

Robert Berg, another CBD business owner, said that he too found it difficult to enter the marijuana business because of costs and having his inventory changed.

Berg said, “I would have had to start from scratch.”

Berg has stated that he will continue to run Royalton CBD. He plans to eventually transform it into Tribal Balance Natural Wellness in March.

Berg said, “I’m not certain that going into a dispensary would have been feasible because of the cost and my existing customer base.”

Berg urges businesses that are interested in selling marijuana for recreational use to do their research, and to speak to the right people to be aware of any changes they may need to make.
