Marijuana Dispensaries

According to the Ohio Cannabis Coalition, after months of anticipation, nonmedical marijuana sales could begin as early as Tuesday August 6, 2018.

The passage of Issue 2, in November, allowed people over 21 to purchase recreational marijuana in Ohio.

In June, applications were opened for companies to begin selling marijuana recreationally.

The 17-page application outlined the conditions for obtaining a license. These included keeping visitor logs and using surveillance systems.

Applications for Ohio recreational marijuana dispensaries are now open.

Tom Haren, OHCANN spokesperson, said in a press release: “I cannot emphasize enough the hard work that OHCANN and DCC members have done to get us to this point.” “We are entering a new era for Ohio, where citizens will be able to access safe products and the communities will benefit from this growing industry in terms of tax revenue and jobs.”

OHCANN stated in a press release that although some dispensaries could begin selling as early as Tuesday, others may need more time.

Some companies who already sell medically can open a separate dispensary for recreational sales. Applications must be approved or rejected by September 7. Applications were due June 14.
