North Carolina
After years of discussion and debate, multiple referendums, and the establishment of an enormous, vertically-integrated cannabis industry, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians is opening its marijuana dispensary on the Qualla Boundary this week for recreational sales. It will be the first dispensary to open in North Carolina, despite the fact that the drug is illegal in the state.
