Issue 2 has been amended by state lawmakers just hours before recreational marijuana is legalized in Ohio.
Just hours before recreational marijuana is legalized in Ohio, state legislators have proposed changes to Issue 2. Gov. Mike DeWine spoke at a presser Wednesday evening about the changes made.
Before legalizing recreational marijuana, state lawmakers must amend Issue 2.
DeWine said that changes must be implemented to stop Ohioans from buying marijuana on the black market once it becomes legal.

Six marijuana plants will be allowed in each household.
This bill also finds an intermediate position on commercial marijuana taxes, and regulates where marijuana may be smoked.
On November 7, approximately 57% of voters approved issue 2, allowing recreational marijuana to be sold. However, the new law takes effect on December 7.
