Five people are facing charges after a series of raids by police on unlicensed pot shops in London, and the Chippewas of Thames First Nation.

The Ontario Provincial Police’s cannabis enforcement team began an investigation in June to investigate the illegal sale of marijuana at a dispensary located on Chippewas Territory and two London stores operating under the name Spirit River that were not licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (the province’s pot regulator), the OPP stated.

Police raided two London locations, one in a trailer located at 72 Wellington St. and the other in a storefront located at 685 Richmond St. on August 20, seizing $350,000 in cannabis products, $9,000 of contraband tobacco, $2500 of magic mushrooms, and $11,000 in cash, police said.
