Missouri officials announced the creation of a joint task force to combat the spread of “unlicensed cannabis products”.

Missouri officials announced on Tuesday a new task force to combat “unlicensed psychoactive marijuana products” in the State. In a Press release In announcing the taskforce, Gov. Mike Parson (R), said that the task force would “root out these cannabis products which are being deceptively advertised to our children, until the General Assembly provides a statutory framework for commonsense regulation.”
“While some people would like Missourians to think that the proliferation of harmful products is not a threat to the health of Missouri children or an emergency, I, along the Attorney general, [Department of Public Safety], [Department of Health and Senior Services] “The Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) and other health experts strongly disagree.” Parson in a Statement

In a press release, Attorney General Andrew Bailey stated that the task force builds upon his office’s existing investigation into these harmful illicit products by formalizing an unit within the Consumer Protection Division which will be dedicated to investigate referrals from ATC.
Since September 1, DHSS officials have visited 64 facilities and found 39 unregulated psychoactive cannabis product available for sale. They also said that 8,929 products were embargoed by the enforcement efforts.
Parson began his work on August 1. Executive Order The sale of psychoactive cannabis products that are not regulated is prohibited. This order was subsequently withdrawn. rejected Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft said that the rules did not meet certain criteria set by state law.
